Multi Split-Unit Air Conditioners

Whole Home Air Conditioning

A multi split system would tend to require a larger and more powerful external condenser unit, however this larger whole home system, does facilitate similar indoor units found in a single split system.

Customisable air con for each room in your home

These multi split systems, which would tend to be installed in larger properties, have a larger condenser(s) that allows for different configurations of indoor units being installed concurrently; so you might have a floor standing unit in your conservatory, ceiling cassette in the living room and wall mounted units in the bedrooms.

Benefits of Multi Split-Unit Air Conditioners

  • Split units are more effective
  • More flexible
  • multiple indoor units or rooms

Split-Unit Air Conditioners

Effective Single Room Cooling

Split-unit or fixed air conditioners are a step up from stand-alone units, they are designed to have a separate indoor and outdoor unit, with the indoor unit permanently fixed to the interior wall, and the outdoor unit located outside the property. The units will be connected by both a power cable and copper piping through which flows the refrigerant that provides the cooling.

Generally a better option than a portable unit

  • Split units are more effective
  • More flexible
  • Options from smaller external compressor units that serve one smaller indoor unit to more powerful multi-split system, that might serve multiple indoor units or rooms.

Benefits of Split-Unit Air Conditioners

Standalone / Monoblock Air Conditioners

Portable Air Con Units

Portable units are plugged into a mains socket and have an exhaust hose that would need to vent from the property to dissipate the warm air.

Air conditioners operate in essence by sending refrigerant through two set of coils one that collects heat and one that dissipates heat. With stand-alone air conditioners, the two sets of coils are combined within the same physical unit making them more portable and lower cost.

Semi-Permanent Air Con Units

There are units of this kind which are more fixed semi-permanent air conditioners that tend to be floor standing or installed in a window cavity.

Benefits of Portable Air Conditioners

  • Effective way to cool specific rooms in your home without the need to install anything.
  • Ability to be moved around within your home to cool different areas
  • Can be put in storage through the winter months when they’re not needed.
